Fun Friday Time
For displaying good behavior and obeying the rules all week, students have the opportunity participate in 20 minutes of free time doing an activity of their choice every Friday!
At the beginning of the school week, each student will be given 20 good behavior sticks to house in their desk. Each stick represents 1 minute of free time. If all rules are followed, students keep the sticks they have in their possession. Throughout the week, if any of the above rules are not followed, a student must give away one of their earned free time minutes and their stick is placed in the “Stick Jail” jar. Students are responsible for housing and keeping track of their own sticks.
On Fridays, the students count their sticks and this represents the amount of minutes that they can participate in Fun Friday time. During this time students may participate in activities from the Innovation Cart, do arts and crafts, play games, or bring in a board game to play with their classmates. For any unearned minutes, students must sit at their desk quietly filling out a reflection paper until it is time for them to participate in the Fun Friday minutes they have earned. The goal is for this to be a good motivator for students to display good behavior throughout the week.
